Because of the pandemic, a lot of us are gearing towards a holistic approach on how to boost our immune system as well as trying to seek complementary medicine that are therapeutic in nature. As an oil-bularyo, to coin a local person that is an essential oil enthusiast for years, I have enjoyed the benefits of engaging myself in aromatherapy. I've written a post about my fascination with oils of all kinds from VCOs to facial oils and of course essential oils or EOs. Link is at the bottom part of this article.
How does Aromatherapy Work?
There is a big misconception about AROMATHERAPY when I learned to study it for my certification as an aromatherapist and that people usually find it as an alternative healing technique or even medicine using only one's olfactory sense. However, it is, NOT.
Aromatherapy is to be used carefully on a controlled approach and with great knowledge of each essential oil. The oils are not created equal, some can be very toxic to the body. Essential oils should be mixed with carrier oils like coconut oil, avocado oil, sunflower oil, jojoba oil or any fatty oils. The advice of a certified or qualified Aromatherapist is highly suggested.
